Daniel Wayne Bowen

KERNERSVILLE – Daniel Wayne Bowen, 80, passed away February 27, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center. Daniel was born on August 25, 1945 in Rowan County, NC to Timothy and Thelma Swicegood Bowen. He was veteran of the US Air Force and attended Antioch Church of Belews Creek. Daniel retired from Duke Energy with over 30 years of service. He was an outdoorsman at heart and loved being able to go fishing and throw a hook anywhere he could find a body of water. He enjoyed making his own fishing lures, tailoring them to his liking. Daniel also enjoyed the sport of Target shooting.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, David Bowen.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Bowen; a son, Johnny Bowen (JoAnna); a daughter, Amy Bowen; three grandchildren, Daniel R. Bowen (Savannah), Andrew Bowen (Abby), and Joshua Bowen (Jamie); and three great grandchildren, Aiden, Gracie, and Ezekiel Bowen.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Robert Dixon officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
