David Brannon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Services of East Alabama, Inc. - Anniston on Mar. 6, 2026.
David Leon Brannon, 68, of Alexandria, Alabama passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was a devoted father, a selfless public servant, and a friend to all. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and also by the community he served so well.

David was a licensed HVAC technician since 1980 and later became a business owner of Brannon Heating and Cooling. He was also a veteran of the Anniston Fire Department from 1982 - 2007 where he retired. While there he was a member of the International Association of Firefighters Local 508.

A follower of Christ, he was a member of the New Faith Church in Gadsden, Alabama. David was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and overall outdoorsman. He held a membership with the Red Knight Motorcycle Club, and he always enjoyed riding motorcycles on back roads with his children.

Left to cherish his memory are his son; Jackson Brannon; his daughter Sadie Brannon; both of Reece City, AL; and his sister Sandra Brannon Wilhite, of Cullman AL. Also, his much-loved friend and mother to his children- Angie Colvin.

David is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Ray Brannon Sr.; his mother, Evelyn Champion Brannon; his brother, Jesse Ray Brannon Jr.; and his sister, Peggy Joyce Arnold.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Anniston Regional Training Center between 2-4PM.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Anniston Fire Department, Gadsden Fire Department, Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown, and Assistant Chief Kat Meherg.
