Earl Sampson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Services of East Alabama, Inc. - Anniston on Mar. 2, 2026.
Earl Woodrow Sampson, was born on May 9, 1955, in Pennsylvania, and passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 70.

Earl lived much of his adult life in the Jacksonville, Alabama area. He passed away at UAB in Birmingham, following a lengthy illness.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Mary (Suzy)(Pressley) Sampson; father, Earl Woodrow Sampson; his mother, Mary Margaret (Rush) Sampson; and his sister, Shirley Segan.

He is survived by those who loved him; his brother, Ronald Myers; his step-children Stacy Ray and Cristy Ray; his step-grandchildren, Sierra (Bright) Tucker (Anthony (T.J.)), Tori McCrelles (Andy), Chloe Wilkins; step-great grandchildren, Rylee Tucker and Eden McCrelles.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. He is now with his Heavenly Father, made new, and reunited with all those he loved who have gone on before him.

Thank you to the Wesleyan Church for their support and encouragement. We also thank the staff of UAB Birmingham for their care, kindness, and thoughtfulness during Earl's time at UAB. Each of you are very much appreciated.

Graveside services will be provided at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request that you consider monetary gifts to The First Wesleyan Church of Anniston, AL (2501 W Jefferson St, Anniston, AL 36201). Your thoughtful support is deeply appreciated and will serve as a meaningful tribute to a cherished life.
