David Wayne Braun, age 62 of Biloxi, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. David was born in Biloxi, MS, on February 4, 1964, to Mary Yvonne (Newman) and James Louis “Jimmy” Braun, Sr. He was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi.

David was a proud graduate of Biloxi High School Class of 1982. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and could do anything he put his mind to. He worked most of his life on the water as a Boat Captain, mainly on yachts, a role that perfectly suited his love for the water. Being on the water is where David has always felt most at peace, whether he was fishing or just simply being on the water; those quiet moments brought him comfort and joy. Later, he worked in construction, helping to build several casinos and hotels.

David was a bachelor most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and having the freedom to do his own thing, working on cars and tinkering with different tools and equipment. Outside of work, he helped his mom to take care of things around her home. He had a very outgoing personality and made friends easily.

When David wasn’t working or helping his mom around her home, he enjoyed fishing and watching sports on TV. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and helping others fix things. In his younger days, he enjoyed attending all of the Mardi Gras Parades.

David is preceded in death by his father, James “Jimmy” Braun, Sr.; brother, James “Jimmy” Braun, Jr.; sisters, Lana and Gina Braun; and nephew, Christopher “Ryan” Braun.

Survivors include his mother, Mary “Yvonne” Braun of Biloxi, MS, and his brother, Glenn Braun of Biloxi, MS. He also leaves behind his nieces, Danielle (Robert) Gill, DeShae (James) Dunlap, Amber Olsen, Holly Brody, and Saraya (Brandon) Braun; and nephew, James “Trae” Braun, III; his great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and many extended loved ones.

The Braun Family prefers memorial donations to be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Ave, Gulfport, MS 39501, in honor of David’s love for animals.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
