David Briere, 65, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on July 29, 1960, in Central Falls, Rhode Island.

He was a proud graduate of Central Falls Jr Sr High School, Class of 1979, David spent many years working for Osram Glass in his hometown. Over the years, he dedicated himself to various security roles, always bringing a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility to each position.

David had a deep love for sports that extended beyond being a fan-he actively contributed to his community by coaching and umpiring little league games. His passion for baseball and football was evident in his unwavering support for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, whether cheering from the stands or watching from home.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria Sciaraffa Briere ; stepchildren Rosemarie Sciaraffa and Partner Vasil Vasilev, Anthony Sciaraffa, and Marissa Sciaraffa; grandchildren Gianni Noel, Matthew Vasilev, and Alexander Vasilev; sister Brenda Marie Briere; and niece Samantha Rancourt and partner John Charbatji and their son Alex as well as many other extended family members.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Mae (Myette) Briere and Robert Emil Briere, as well as his son Steven Briere.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, offering an opportunity for those who knew him to gather in remembrance.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
