David Bruce Brown, affectionately known as "Doc" and "Bwana," was born on May 27, 1956, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and passed away on June 18, 2025. He led a life rich in purpose and meaning, dedicating himself to the field of psychology, where he earned his Doctorate and became a respected Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Therapist.
David's career was not merely a job; it was a calling that allowed him to help countless individuals confront their challenges and reclaim their lives. His compassion and understanding shone through in every interaction, earning him the admiration and respect of both his colleagues and clients.
Outside of his professional endeavors, David embodied the spirit of a true Southern gentleman. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, be it riding motorcycles, hunting, or fishing. Naturally drawn to the tranquility of nature, he cherished moments spent with family on the farm. His love for dancing and live music showcased his vibrant personality and zest for life, making him a cherished presence at gatherings.
He leaves behind his beloved family, which includes his brother, Lloyd Brown, and his three sons, Travis Brown, Ray Brown, and Mac (Amanda) Brown. They will carry forward his legacy of kindness and resilience.
David was preceded in death by several loved ones, including his grandmother, Lois Towler; his grandfather, Jessie "Pop" Towler; his father, Raymond L. Brown, his mother, Betty T. Brown, and the mother of his children, Debbie Brown. Their spirits will undoubtedly accompany him on his journey beyond this life.
David Bruce Brown's impact on those around him will be remembered fondly. His warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held on July 1, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, followed by a Funeral Service that will begin at 7:00 PM on the same day. The chapel is located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143.
