David R. Brown

Brandon, Mississippi

David Randall Brown, age 61, passed away on December 26, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1964 to David Francis Brown and Nancy Duncan Brown in Anderson, IN.

Randy was born on May 15, 1964, in Anderson, Indiana, and spent much of his life in Mississippi. He worked across several fields throughout his career, primarily in warehousing, inventory control, and operations management. He took pride in his work and valued doing things thoroughly and correctly.

As a freshman at Mississippi State University, Randy pledged and was initiated into the Kappa Sigma fraternity. It was during this time that he earned the nickname "Skeeter," a name that would become one of his lifelong calling cards. Skeeter was known for his infectious laughter, quick humor, and unmistakable presence-everyone knew when he had arrived, often making a grand entrance simply by being himself. He was a house favorite, someone others naturally gravitated toward for laughter and fun.

During his time at Mississippi State, he formed close bonds with several fraternity brothers, including friendships that spanned more than four decades. These relationships endured through all of life's ups and downs, rooted in deep loyalty, shared experiences, and a humor they often joked was their "common insanity," something they believed kept them grounded and sane in the world.

Outside of work and school, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and had a lifelong love of golf. He was an avid NASCAR fan for many years, particularly of Dale Earnhardt. He also had a collector's mindset, with interests that included coins, stamps, and other memorabilia. Music was a constant in his life, with a deep appreciation for classic rock.

Randy was a father who loved his children deeply and was always cheering them on, proud of who they were and who they were becoming. Though life was not without its challenges, his love for his children was constant and remains an enduring part of his legacy.

He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, the friendships he cherished, the passions that shaped him, and the lasting mark he left on his family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life service for Mr. Brown on Friday, January 2, 2025 beginning at 1pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home (759 Hwy 51, Madison, MS 39110).
