David was a 1985 graduate of Harbor High School and was a certified welder for Ayrshire. He worked for both Saybrook and Ashtabula Township Fire Departments, Doug Ambulance in Geneva, and was last employed for 26 years with LinCare/Health Care Solutions as a center manager before he retired due to health reasons.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion where he served as Commander. In his younger years, he played baseball for the Saybrook Boys Baseball League and wrestled for Columbus Junior High. He grew up attending Ashtabula First Church of the Nazarene (now The Ridge), and enjoyed fishing, grilling, cooking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He served as assistant football coach for David and Aidan for the Buckeye Community Football League. Although he was not a veteran, he was incredibly proud of his father's service to his country and supported many veterans causes as an active member of the American Legion, Dewey Howlett Post #103.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Barney and Ann Parrish; his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Genevieve Anttila; and his aunt Susan Gogul.

Dear Dave and Becky, So sorry to hear about David. He certainly was a jovial and genuine person. I always enjoyed interacting with him as his physician and co-partener in healthcare. I know he has big shoes to fill with his passing. I fondly remember his wife Rachel and her talking about her younger children of whom she was a very adoring and loving mother. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
