David Campana Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel on Feb. 10, 2026.
David Paul Campana, age 43, of Playa Del Carmen Mexico, passed away Wednesday, February 4th 2026, leaving us far too soon.

David was born March 11, 1982 in Mansfield Ohio. He is the son of Paul D. Campana (deceased) and Susan E. Sandlin of Jacksonville NC. David is survived by his mother Susan E Sandlin (Hugh), his sister Becky J. Granter (Ben) of Bellville OH (Trinity, Haven, Ben Jr., Lincoln), and his brother Jonathan M. Campana (Beth) of El Paso AR (James, Dylan, Amelia, Roman). He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. His loyal canine companion Brixy also survives. David was preceded in death by his father, Paul D. Campana, paternal and maternal grandparents, Aunt Cindy Demich, and Uncle Tom Campana.

David graduated from Ontario High School, Ontario OH, class of 2000. There he was a member of the National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American High School Students. He played football and track, and also played the trombone. David went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Architecture. David's interests and hobbies included travel, adventure, music, DJ'ing, marathon running, working out, volunteering at food banks and animal shelters, and exploring & learning new adventurous activities. David was an inspiration, a mentor, so intelligent and inquisitive, and loving & devoted to his family and friends. His nieces and nephews called him "funkle," the most fun uncle.

David studied to get his architecture license after getting his degree. He was an accomplished architect working for several different firms. He then began a new career in the webx field. He worked for fortune 100 companies such as Apple and Verizon, designing new apps. David most recently became founder and CEO of Level^Up, a mentoring company. David lived in Mansfield OH, Cincinnati OH, several cities in California, New York City, and abroad in South America, South Africa, London, and many other cities around the world. His family called David their world traveler residing in every continent except Antarctica. You could say David didn't have a permanent address other than his email. One of his most daring adventures was traversing the Grand Trans-Siberian Railway across Asia. This meant traveling through and staying in some impoverished countries, Russia, and ending in China. On his travels he met and became close to so very many people that became close friends to this day. David said he acquired his wanderlust to travel from his Grandpa Mossman.

Since adopting his dog Brixy several years ago, they have travelled together to several countries. David's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
