LATHAM - David J. Carhart, 85, of Latham, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.
David was born in Troy, the son of the late Eleanor Hayes and the late Daniel Carhart Jr. David was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked at the Watervliet Arsenal for 25 years. He was a member of the Watervliet-Colonie Elks, The Knights of Columbus, and Ancient Order of Hibernians. David enjoyed attending Mass as a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption in Latham, volunteering his time to local charitable organizations, singing karaoke and walking his dog.
David is survived by his son, Jack Carhart; daughter, Katie Carhart; his sister, Mary Anne (Lawrence) Donnelly; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lynne Carey Carhart; his brothers, Daniel Carhart III, Donald Carhart, Philip (late Therese) Carhart, Charles Carhart; and his sister, Margaret Conway.
Funeral services will be held at Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, on Thursday, March 19, 2026. Calling hours from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
