David "Dave" Ellis Caudill, born March 10, 1948, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, shortly before his 77th birthday. Born to William "Jack" and Goldia "Lena" Caudill in Warsaw, Dave was the second of four children and is survived by his siblings Linda Butler, Sherry (Leonard) Walton, and Jackie (Pam) Caudill.
Dave leaves behind his beloved wife, Erin, and his children Shelly (David Cunningham) Leifer, Greg (Jill) Caudill, Austin (Ashley) Caudill, and Nichole Caudill. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Chloe, Kyler, Sophia, Evan, Brinlee, Chandler, Isaiah, and Zander.
A man who loved family, Dave enjoyed attending family reunions and had a deep passion for family history. He took great pride in learning about his roots and sharing those stories with others, strengthening the bond within his family. Dave's love for automobiles was well-known, and he loved attending auctions with Erin. After working as a commercial truck driver, Dave started a business with Jim Shreiner called Tire Reclaimer LLC., picking up tires and shredding them. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a medic. Known for his infectious sense of humor, Dave never met a stranger and always had a joke ready to lighten the mood. He cherished his family and gave selflessly to those in need.
A celebration of life with be from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Walnut Street Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester, IN 46962. Services will start at 3:15 PM with Pastor Sebrena Cline officiating.
There will be no burial at this time.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Dave's memory to a charity of your choice.
