David Sheldon Causton

1944 - 2025

David Sheldon Causton, age 81 of Aitkin, passed away at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth on December 24, 2025. He was born in St. Paul on February 8, 1944 to Sheldon and June (Jared) Causton. David married Linda Palas on September 28, 1987 in Elk River.

David taught German and was a High School Counselor in Park Center and Osseo School Districts. He was a member of St. Emily's Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9657, Crosslake and Emily and the 4th Degree Assembly 549, Brainerd. David excelled at everything he took an interest in. He enjoyed participating in sports and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; his son Jeff (Kristine) Causton of Chaska; his daughter, Julie (Ellen) Causton of Syracuse, N.Y.; one brother, Ron Causton of New Brighton; four grandchildren, Petra and Ammi Causton, Sam and Ella Theoharis; nieces and nephews.

Preceding David in death are his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at St. Emily's Catholic Church. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday with a Rosary at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
