David Chavez Obituary
David P. Chávez, de 70 años, de South Sioux City, falleció el sábado 18 de noviembre de 2023 en un hospital de Sioux Falls. Se llevará a cabo una misa de funeral a las 10:30 a. m. el miércoles 22 de noviembre de 2023 en la iglesia católica St. Michael en South Sioux City. El entierro será en el cementerio de St. Michael. David nació el 21 de junio de 1953 en Zacapu, Michoacán, México, hijo de José y Lidia (Reynoso) Chávez. Pasó años viviendo en Zacapu, Michoacán, así como en Reynosa, Tamaulipas, antes de mudarse a South Sioux City en la década de 1990. Se casó con Sanjuana Cervantes el 18 de mayo de 1979 en Tamaulipas, México, y de esta unión nacieron cuatro hijos.
David era un hombre trabajador. Trabajó para Zenith durante muchos años como operador y ascendió hasta convertirse en supervisor. Terminó su carrera trabajando para Tyson Foods.
Desempeñó un papel importante en la comunidad futbolística de Siouxland. David ayudó a iniciar la liga de fútbol masculino en South Sioux City y fue presidente de la liga de fútbol Siouxland Liga Latina. En su juventud, disfrutaba mucho jugando al fútbol. Más recientemente, se le pudo encontrar viendo un partido en la televisión (¡y tal vez gritándole a la pantalla!). Le encantaba cocinar para su familia y todos sus platos estaban deliciosos. ¡A David le encantaba ir a la panadería con sus amigos, a tomar café y chismiar!
Le sobreviven su esposa, Sanjuana Chávez; sus hijos: Iván Chávez, Ivonne Chávez, Itzel Chávez e Isaac Chávez; su madre, Lidia Chávez; hermanos: Melchor (Josefina) Chávez, Salud Chávez, Salomón (Agripina) Chávez, María Cruz (Bruno Galván) Chávez, José (Cristina) Chávez, Alma (Alfredo) Chávez, María (José Luis Morín) Chávez, Dora (Antonio) García y Narciso (Ruth) Chávez; muchas sobrinas y sobrinos; y su querido perro, Bach.
Le precedieron en la muerte su padre, José Chávez; y tres hermanos: Digna Chávez, Gonzalo Chávez y Elsa Chávez.
