David Alan Chesson age 78 was born in Dorchester Massachusetts April 12, 1947 but sadly passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026 after a long battle with cancer.
David was the President of the Better Business Information Services in Leesburg Florida for more than 40 years. He was the owner of Omni Home Services as well as Omni Pest Services for Lake & Sumter County and Chesson Security (
Nashua, NH) in the 1970's. He taught Taekwondo with hand-to-hand combat and loved to practice it on friends and family.
He was a pillar of the community that he was proud to serve with his wisdom, advice, counseling and heart felt guidance. For many years he helped with the local homeless and less fortunate with providing them with food and supplies that they needed, guiding them, helping them get off the streets and back into society with many success stories. He won a Presidential Lifetime Achievement award in 2010 for his helping with the homeless in Leesburg Florida and surrounding areas.
David Received an Honorary PhD and introduced himself as "Dr. Dave" to whoever he met. He received an appointment as an Honorary Kentucky Colonel in December 2023 by the Governor. He was a Bishop in which he founded and operated the Good Samaritan Fellowship Ministries of Leesburg Florida an organization dedicated to help the less fortunate through counseling and sat on the Board of Professional and Ethical Standards of The Village Mind and Body Institute in Lady Lake Florida and Manna University in Lady Lake FL with his fifty-year business partner and longtime friends Dennis Brady and Tonya Houghton Brady.
David was a proud Sergeant in The United States Marine Corp who served with distinction in the Vietnam era and loved to share his service stories with everyone. He was famously known as the "The Candy Man" for passing out candy to all the hardworking staff he encountered at al his doctor and hospital appointments as a small token to show his appreciation for all their hard work, dedication and giving him great care which he took great pride in.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 59 years Jeanne Chesson of Leesburg FL, Son Terry Chesson of Wildwood FL., Daughter Tammy (Johnnie Jr.) Newsome of Webster, four Grandchildren Justin Stephens of Perry FL, Erica Chesson of Lake Panasoffkee FL, Mindy (Parker) Shaw of South Carolina, Corey (Jayme) Chesson of Summerfield FL, eight Great Grandchildren Cayden, Khloe, Alexander (Alex), Payton, Emma, Myla, Elliot, and Stella.
He is proceeded in death by his mother Doris Drake (Antrim NH) and his brother Bruce Chesson (Orlando FL).
