Janet Heller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Page-Theus Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 9, 2026.
Janet Ruth Foster Heller entered into eternity and into the arms of her Savior on Friday, February 6, 2026. She was 88 years old and lived a very full and meaningful life.

As a child, Janet moved around the country with her family and met the love of her life, Charles Richard Heller, while attending Miami Edison High School. They fell in love and were married in 1957. Together they had 3 children.

Janet worked off and on at various jobs while raising her family. She was also actively involved in church, working with the WMU, teaching Sunday School, and serving wherever she could, helping to instill her Christian values to her family and others.

She was always loving on and caring for others and it was a natural occurrence to have lots of her children's friends around her house at all times. She made them feel welcomed and comfortable, treating them as her own kids, making sure they were fed and behaving themselves.

Janet most often could be found helping a neighbor, looking after a friend, or running her kids back and forth to their many activities. Even when battling personal health issues, she was busy looking after and caring for others around her. She didn't know what it meant to slow down.

After retirement and the passing of her husband, Janet settled in the central Florida area, where she continued to spoil her grandchildren and enjoy life. In 2024 she relocated to Floral City, living with her daughter and son-in-law until her passing.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Foster, and her husband, Charles Richard Heller. Left to cherish her memory are her three children; David (Cindy) Heller of Lake Waccamaw, NC, Linda (David) Wessner of Floral City, Fl, and Valerie (Trey) Reynolds of Taylors, SC; her 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and her two sisters Jackie (Steve) Miller; and Judy Walts.

A memorial service will be held on March 21, at 11:00am at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Columbus Baptist Association to be used for missions work. Janet was not only a Christian woman, she passionately supported missions work to help share the gospel. Checks can be mailed to Columbus Baptist Association, 208 S. Thompson Street, Whiteville, NC 28472.
