Colonel (Ret.) David W. Clark, U.S. Army, died January 13, 2026 following a career marked by distinguished military and public service.

Colonel David Waldron Clark was born December 7, 1937 in Berkley, Massachusetts and graduated from Dighton High School in 1956. Colonel Clark began his military service by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1956. After completing his basic and advanced training at Paris Island, South Carolina, he served as a 105 mm howitzer crewman with the 10th Marines 2nd Division at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Colonel Clark was honorably discharged after 3 years of service and returned to his native Massachusetts to begin college.

Commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1966, Colonel Clark served as an Infantry officer in Vietnam, where he was wounded in combat in 1967 and 1968. He later transferred to Military Intelligence and held senior command and leadership positions in Korea, Europe, and at the Defense Intelligence Agency.

After retiring from active duty in 1993, he continued serving as a Department of Defense civilian until 2014. Colonel Clark's career reflected a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and integrity.

David was proceeded in death by daughter Terri and is survived by his sons David Christian, Jonathan and brother Gary.
