David Wayne Clough

David Wayne Clough passed away peacefully at his home in Jacksonville, Florida on July 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy; his two sons, Andrew (Katy) and Matthew (Sandi); and his niece, Rebecca Williamson. He was predeceased by his parents, Lauren and Margaret Clough, and his sister, Carol Canty.

David was a man who never met a stranger. He loved to talk, share stories, and build relationships, and his presence left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him.

He dedicated over 40 years of his life to education, teaching, and coaching multiple generations of students primarily at William M. Raines High School. His commitment to his students and his community was unwavering, and he took great pride in shaping young minds both in and out of the classroom.

An avid golfer, David found joy and peace on the course, where he spent many hours perfecting his swing-though friends would say his scorecard sometimes benefited from a generous interpretation of the rules.

He was a unique individual-full of character, warmth, and authenticity-and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

A mass to celebrate David's life will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and honor his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in David's memory to the Colon Cancer Foundation or the American Liver Foundation.
