Sun Prairie – David J. Coisman, at 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 8, 2026, in Sun Prairie. He was born November 29, 1944, in Algoma, WI. to the late Raymond and Vida (Herlache) Coisman. David’s education included being a 1962 graduate of Algoma High School and in 1968 received his associate’s degree with Honors in Electronics Engineering Technology. Growing up on a farm he loved ice cream and his hobbies and passions included photography and painting. David married Vicky Guilette in 1965 and later married Simone Anderson in 2000. Fun loving, caring and kindhearted are words that best describe David to those that knew him. David retired from Bell Labs and later as a United States Postal Worker.
David is survived by his children Shayne D. (Estella) Coisman, Grant R. (Ruth) Coisman and stepdaughter Alyssa (Gary Timlin) Anderson; grandchildren Charles D. Coisman, Jennifer A. Coisman, Margaux L. Coisman, Gabriel H. Coisman, Emily Timlin, Will Timlin; great grandson Max Coisman; siblings Glenn Coisman, Neil Coisman, Noreen Norton, Connie Alexander; and he is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leland Coisman, and his wife Simone.
A Celebration of David’s life will take place in June in southern Door County.
The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Gardens and the staff of Agrace Hospice for their kindness and support.
