David Corona

David was called to the house of the lord on March 18, 2026 surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 22, 1946 to Guadalupe Corona Sr and Pauline (Cantu) Corona in Cameron, Texas. He is one of five children, Damon Corona, Lupe Corona Jr, George Corona, and Lucy Corona.

He married the love of his life Ignacia "Agnes" Corona on September 4, 1971 in Cameron, TX. They spent 54 years together through thick and thin always by each other's side. One of his most prized titles is that of "Dad" to three beautiful daughters. Clarissa Corona-Davis, Noelia Corona-Terry, and Olga Smithwick. Another prized title was being called "PawPaw" to 5 grandchildren, Gabriella Davis, Analisa Terry, Gavin Davis, Garyson Davis and Guilliana Davis.

He spent 34 years working for BNSF Railroad as a foreman. He even played guitar in a BNSF band. He traveled all over while participating in one of his hobbies, taking pictures. He had passion for working on cars and playing guitar and singing. He was a devout member of St. Monica's in Cameron and Our Lady Guadalupe in Temple. You could find him playing his guitar in church or flipping burgers at St. Monica's Homecoming Festival. If you needed help, David was always just a phone call away.

David will be remembered for his kindness, a strong work ethic, unbreakable faith and the love he shared with everyone around him. His rosary is planned for March 24th 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron, TX. Funeral is planned for March 25th, 2026 at 10am at St. Monica's in Cameron, TX.
