David Gerard Cortinas passed away suddenly at home on May 21, 2024 in Austin, TX at the age of 64 years old. He was born to Eva Aguirre and Matias Cortinas on March 14, 1960 in Austin, TX where he lived his life and even went on to serve as an acolyte and help with religious education at San Jose Catholic Church.
David was preceded by his mother, Eva Aguirre; father, Matias Cortinas; sister, Carmen Vela; brothers, Abelardo “Bruno” Cortinas and Reynaldo Aguirre; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves behind his daughter, Sasha Cortinas Hernandez; two grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Hernandez; siblings, Matias Cortinas Jr., Robert D. Cortinas, Gilbert Cortinas, Alfred Cortinas, Yolanda Corpus, and Mary Ann Segovia (David); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Alec Rios for showing his kindness and support to David while he was in and out of the hospital. Our words cannot express our gratitude for your help.
