David H. Cosgriff

David Hancock Cosgriff, affectionately known to all as "Buzz," passed away at home in Nantucket on April 25, 2025. He was the husband of Anne Foye.
Buzz was a master carpenter whose steady hands built more than homes - they built trust, lasting friendships, and integrity. His craftsmanship is woven into the fabric of Nantucket, where his dedication and skilled hands leave a lasting legacy.
He was a man of quiet strength, deep character, and unwavering honesty. His life was marked by hard work, humility, and a deep love for people.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Foye; his sisters, Kaethe Pinnell and Nancy Cosgriff Marchand; and his brother-in-law, James Pinnell. He was predeceased by his nephew, Jonathan. He leaves behind his beloved nieces Jamie, Nancy, and Stephanie and his grand-nieces Mollie and Marjorie and grand-nephew Luke, and also multitudes of friends- all of whom brought him great joy and pride.
Buzz will be remembered by so very many for his loyalty, humor, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met.
A celebration of Buzz's life will be held May 31st 1pm at the Admiralty Club in Madaket.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Nantucket Boys and Girls Club, in honor of Buzz's generous and grounded spirit.
