David Daniel Cosgrove passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2026, just seven days shy of his 56th birthday.

David was born on January 9, 1970, in Metairie, Louisiana, to Norma and Daniel Cosgrove. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud Pawpaw. David never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone feel like a friend.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Cosgrove; his father, Daniel Cosgrove; his grandfather, Manuel Conklin; his grandmother, Aurora Bonner; his aunts, Pauline Lugo and Gwen Clement; and his uncle, Joseph Daniel Cosgrove Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Cosgrove; his children, Kourtney Norris and Megan Cosgrove; his son-in-law, Ryan Norris; and his six beloved grandchildren: Mason Cosgrove, Karen Norris, Jordan Cosgrove, Russell Norris, Nora Cosgrove, and Junior Norris. He is also survived by his sisters, Odessa Cosgrove (Amber, Jacob, and Elizabeth) and Danielle Wilson (Aaron, Christian, and Sarah); his nieces and nephews; his grandmother, Sue Conklin; and his uncles, Troy Conklin and Fred Conklin.

David loved his children and grandchildren deeply and was always telling stories about them. Being a Pawpaw was one of his greatest joys. He was known for his skill as a talented carpenter, including his tile work, and for his generous heart—always willing to help others whenever he could. David’s faith was reflected in the way he never met a stranger and treated everyone like a friend.

David leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and family. He will be deeply missed and always remembered, and his work will live on in the homes and hearts he touched.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside service held at Greenwood Cemetery, 5190 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124 (Plot 19 – Marigold, Cedar, Aloe) on Monday January 12, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

Following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at New Orleans City Park, where lunch will be provided.
