It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Lee Cronkright (Dave), who left us on November 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave was 70 years old.
Born on September 2, 1954, to William and Gail (Archambault) Cronkright, Dave was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dave is survived by his children: Leeann Lilly, husband Brad Lilly, and their children Tyler Browers (Casey Washburn), Alexis, Jordan, and Banks Lilly, and his great-grandson, Lincoln Browers. He is also survived by his daughter Jamie Bates, son in-law, Brian Bates, and grandchildren Brooklyn, Preston, and Raegan Bates.
As the oldest of six siblings, Dave was deeply loved by his brothers and sisters: Bonnie (Rick) Oakes, Deborah (Mark) Owen, Michael (Lynn) Cronkright, Mary (William) Glotfelty, and Laura (Jim) Cheeney. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and extended family, including his sister-in-law Mary Lacey (Steve Waller), and brother-in-law Thomas (Doris) Collin.
Dave was married to Starr Cronkright, with whom he shared over 51 years of life and love.
The proud owner of Cronkright's Tree Service, Dave became well-known for his remarkable skills as a tree climber. His expertise and dedication to his craft earned him a respected place in the industry, and he was often sought after for challenging jobs that required his unique talents.
Dave found joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved sharing the outdoors with anyone who was interested. Above all, he loved his dog, Suzi, who remained by his side until the very end. Their bond was unbreakable, and they provided each other comfort and companionship through difficult times.
Dave's life was also defined by his commitment to personal growth. He was proud to celebrate 7 years of sobriety as a member of the Alano Club South, where he found strength, support, and a sense of community.
Family and friends gathered on November 24, 2024 to share memories and honor the impact he had on their lives.
