David Dameron Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2026.
David Dick Dameron, 74, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2026, following a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, David earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Teaching from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. After college, David made San Antonio home while raising a family. Over the course of his multifaceted life, David was a public educator, owner of the Phoenix Bookstore, a metaphysical bookstore, General Manager for University of the Trees Press, a sales manager, and an author. For more than twenty years, he was the owner and operator of a successful training and consulting business. Through this work, David trained and inspired thousands of individuals in the areas of time management, stress management, team building, customer service, and personal growth. David eventually settled in Traverse City, Michigan in 2006 with his wife Susan, seeking a slower pace of life and deeper connection to the outdoors.

David is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Susan Wagar Dameron; his daughter Amanda McChesney (Joe); his son Ben Dameron; his former wife Amy Dameron Phipps; his brother Tom Dameron (Karen); and his beloved grandchildren Elijah McChesney, Avery McChesney, and Emma McChesney. He is also dearly loved by his three devoted dogs, who were constant companions in his later years.

David will be remembered for his deep curiosity, gentle wisdom, and enduring belief in spirituality, personal growth, and human connection.

Memorial services will not be held. Donations may be made in his honor to Daisy Cares at https://daisycares.com.
