Day, David William, age 78 of Rochester Hills, passed away September 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband of Mary Rose Day for 56 years, dear father of Mary Beth (Sean) Kell and Bill (Clarissa) Day, beloved grandfather of David Kell, Emily Kell, Leah Day and Emma Day, brother of Liz Day, Dana Day, Don (Judy) Day and Lori Day, also survived by many loving nieces and nephews: Aimee, Carrie, Michelle, Kelsey, Danea, Danielle, Ashley, Jeremy, Heather, Frankie, Lexi, Jaelen, and Kayla. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, 12:00 pm at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd, Rochester. The family will receive friends on Friday 10:00 am until time of service. As a proud Army veteran, burial will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorials in David's name may be made to Michigan State University or a charity of the donor's choice.

Dave's loving wife of 56 years, Rose, fell in love with his dimples, and shining smile at Michigan State University (Go Spartans!). His charm and wit won him lots of dear friends as he was fun to be around and made all feel genuinely cared for. David was known for his great hugs!

Dave is fondly remembered by colleagues and friends as D2. He had a passion for mentoring his younger associates at Graybar Electric where he worked for 32 years. Many of those friends were fellow golfers and they spent hours on the 19th hole.

Speaking of golf, Dave's favorite pastimes were G&G, golfing, and gambling. Through his love of all card games, especially Bridge, he made lifelong friends. He experienced life to the fullest by traveling to countries far and wide. His favorite of these trips were his "adventures" with his four grandchildren. Many of those were at Cedar Point Amusement Park speeding down the many roller coasters.

Dave was a loving family man and caring friend. He will be remembered affectionately forever.
