"Loving husband, father & brother"
David P. DeVito, 79, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the VITAS Healthcare Corporation Atlantic Division at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Jones) DeVito.
David was born in Waterbury, CT on September 23, 1944, a son of the late Peter and Edith (Colella) DeVito. Before his retirement, he worked as a color matcher for the Waterbury Plating Company for 33 years. He also worked for the Jonmandy Company in Torrington and most recently for Hayden Switch. David enjoyed doing yard work, watching television and listening to music. He especially cherished spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, Elizabeth of 59 years, he is survived by his son, Mark DeVito of San Diego, CA, daughter, Donna DeVito and her partner, Lenny Torretta of Waterbury, CT, siblings, Alan DeVito and his wife, Barbara of Wallingford, CT, Nick DeVito and his wife, Joelle of Middlebury, CT, Gail Huaman of Waterbury, CT, Peter DeVito of Waterbury, CT and Richard DeVito of Waterbury, CT and several nieces and nephews.
David's family would like to thank the staff of VITAS for the compassionate care given to him.
Arrangements: A calling hour will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
