Robert Barone Obituary

Robert L. Barone
"Beloved husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather"
Robert L. Barone, 85, of Prospect, entered into the gates of heaven on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Gugliotti) Barone of over sixty-three years.
Bob was born in Waterbury, on March 6, 1941, a son of the late Lawrence and Rose (Ventresca) Barone. Being a Waterbury native, Bob attended Waterbury Schools and was a graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1959. He then went on to earn his Pharmaceutical Degree from the University of Connecticut.
Bob married the love of his life, Mary Ann, with whom he shared his first date with in 1954, and the rest was history. The two of them started their family, and were fortunate enough to see them grow, having grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom they absolutely adored. Alongside his wife, Bob loved traveling, trips to the casino, and making family memories that will be cherished forever.
Anyone that knew Bob could attest that he simply had the desire to help others, whether it be family, friends, a neighbor, or even a stranger. That was simply the kind of man he was. For over forty-two years, Bob worked as a pharmacist at Bunker Hill Pharmacy in Waterbury, later starting a second career as a real estate agent, working for Showcase Realty, where he was commonly known as "Condo Bob".
Besides his beloved wife, Mary Ann Barone of Waterbury, Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory, three daughters, Cathy Barone and her husband, Rodney Chipman of Prospect, Mary Beth Sideravage and her husband, William of Waterbury, and Rosemary Barone and her husband, James Mull of Quincy, MA. He also leaves behind his four siblings, Barbara Ponzillo and her husband, Steve of Southington, Stephen Barone and his wife, Linda of Middlebury, Nancy Jean Murphy and her husband, Tim of Wakefield, RI, Larry Barone and his wife, Corrine in Waterbury; as well as his three grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored, Kyle Beynor and his wife, Julia of Sumter, SC, Elizabeth Sideravage of Waterbury, Lauren Sideravage of Delray Beach, FL; and his two great-grandchildren, Elle and Nora.
Arrangements: A funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 8:45 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum in Waterbury. Yesterday

Bob touched so many lives with his warmth, humor, and genuine spirit. His presence made the world a little brighter, and his memory will continue to live on together through his many accomplishments. His presence at our luncheons will certainly be missed. I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Mary Ann and family, and the strength and comfort as you navigate this difficult time.
