Leroy Gangell Obituary
Harwinton- Leroy W. Gangell, 98, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of 74 years of the late Jeanne (Ouellette) Gangell.
Mr. Gangell was born in Torrington, on January 8, 1928, son of the late Vernon and Helen Gangell, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Gangell was the proprietor of Rocket Motor Sales, Torrington, which he enjoyed operating for over 70 years. He loved fishing and taking trips around the country in his RV, traveling from Colorado to Florida.
Survivors include a son, Larry T. Gangell and his wife, Kathleen; a granddaughter, Tara E. Rokosh; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Rokosh and Aiden Rokosh; a brother, Wallace Gangell; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gangell was predeceased by his son, Lee V. Gangell; and two grandchildren, Erica M. Gangell and Kevin C. Gangell.
Services will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
