Sr. of Leominster David A. Docekal

Leominster – David A. Docekal, Sr. 78, formerly of Fitchburg and Ashby, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Dave was born in Fitchburg on March 27, 1947, a son of the late Philip and Ida (Beckwith) Docekal. He attended Fitchburg High School and went on to work as an extruder in the plastics industry, most recently for Gitto Global until his retirement in 2013.

Dave always looked forward to visiting Hampton Beach with his family. He loved being outdoors and going fishing. He was a member of the British American Club and the Leominster Rod and Gun Club, where he enjoyed target shooting. Dave loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends, he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Germaine of Leominster; children, David Docekal, Jr. and wife May of S. Grafton, Dawn (Docekal) Merrifield of Leominster; Dana Germaine of Leominster, Todd Germaine and wife Diane of Fitchburg, Chris Germaine and partner Jeff Baker of RI, Michael Germaine and wife Jeri-Ellen of Winchendon; grandchildren, Paige King and her husband Nolan, and their son Everett, Brooke Stelluto and husband Cody, Shaughnessy Docekal, Kaitlyn Woodworth and her children Emma and Cole, Alyssa Germaine, Lauren Germaine and her son Levi, Samantha Chace and her son Ryan, Teresa Duval and her children Milo and Iris, and TJ Germaine and his daughter Charlotte; sisters, Denise Gowell and husband Ron of NC and Judith Kramer and husband Mike of NY; several nieces and nephews.

Dave was predeceased by his granddaughter Ashleigh Brown in 2015 as well as his brother Philip E. Docekal, Jr. and sister Alice Neforas.

Calling hours will be held in the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg on Thursday, February 5, from 4-7pm. The funeral will be held on Friday, February 6 in the funeral home at 10am, followed by burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
