David Sidney Downing Sr.

David Sidney Downing, Sr., age 74, a resident of Panama City, FL, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, in Panama City, FL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm Sunday, December 18, 2022, service time at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. He will be laid to rest at the Mississippi Veterans Cemetery in Newton, MS.
Mr. Downing was born October 9, 1948, in Jackson, MS, to Albert Dabney Downing and Winnie Freddie Matherne Downing. He was married to Beth Vickery Downing. Mr. Downing was a contractor for 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in the outdoors. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Downing was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Dabney Downing and Winnie Freddie Matherne Downing, daughter, Amanda Downing Young, siblings, Kathee Downing Toon, Becky Downing Gibson, and Mark Taylor Downing.
Mr. Downing is survived by his children, David Sidney Downing, Jr. (Stacey Davis), Jaime Downing Gray (William Deane), and John Mark Downing; sister, Kim Downing Kelly (John); grandchildren, Landon Dale Young and Jordan Avery Young; many other family members and a host of friends.
