David Dueñas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Mercedes on Dec. 29, 2025.
David C. Dueñas was born on October 13, 1932, in Mercedes, Texas, to his parents, Ernesto Dueñas and Maria Cuestas. He passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and deep love for his family.

David was introduced to his faith at a young age by his grandfather, and that faith softly guided him throughout his life. It shaped his values, influenced his choices, and gave him a steady sense of peace. He trusted in God's care and lived with a humble confidence in His faithfulness.

Family was always at the heart of David's life. He worked faithfully to provide for those he loved and found great joy in being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also a steady and caring presence to his grandchild and great-grandchild, offering love, guidance, and reassurance rooted in his faith.

David hoped his family would know God's love and find comfort in trusting Him. His life reflected faith, responsibility, and a quiet, enduring love that will continue to live on through those he touched.

David is survived by his children David (Pamela) Dueñas, Noe (Gloria) Dueñas, and Nelida (Antonio) Tristan; and by his daughter-in-law, Alma Dueñas. He was also blessed with 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife, Lidia Dueñas; his sons Marcelo (Lucy) Dueñas and Ernesto Dueñas; his daughter, Ester Dueñas; and his sister, Rebecca Vargas.

David's memory and legacy of faith and devotion will be lovingly cherished by his family for generations to come.
