Ralph Duenas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. Mary Cemetery & Funeral Center on Jan. 30, 2026.
Ralph C. Duenas was the eldest son born to Julia and Primitivo Duenas on May 7th 1937. Raised and resided in Sacramento Ca. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
In 1960 while working in a cannery Ralph met and married his loving wife of 65 years Alice. Both having little ones of their own (Esther and Ralphie jr.) they quickly blended their family and went on to have three children together. Anthony, Debbie and Mark Duenas. He was a dedicated father to his family. Working several jobs, in a Ice house to garbage man and butcher. eventually he decided to further his education and returned to school. There he joined The California Department of Corrections, where he rose through the ranks as Officer, Sargent, Lieutenant. Later becoming a Parole Agent. All while being devoted to his faith he served the Catholic Church by joining the Knights of Columbus and was a Grand Knight. Ralph retired after serving over 30 years with the D.O.C. He would often say to us all "Boy, I worked like a dog" chuckle, then say" That's why you have to go to school".

Outside of work he was very proud to be a Mexican American man who enjoyed traveling, blasting his corridors and Oldies music, watching westerns, telling stories of chigasos and spending time making memories with his family and friends. Ralph is survived by his wife Alice and children Esther (Mario) Espinoza, Anthony, Debbie, Mark Duenas. 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
