David D. Ebertowski Sr., age 89 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Good Samaritan in East Grand Forks, MN.
David Daniel Ebertowski Sr., was born on February 21, 1935 in Grafton, ND the son of William and Sarah (Gerszewski) Ebertowski. He grew up and attended school in Walsh County, ND. Following that he joined the US Navy. Thankfully his service took him to Lakehurst New Jersey where he met his future wife Alice Huddell and the two were married on April 4, 1959 in Tom's River, New Jersey. They moved to Milwaukee, WI where he managed and owned gas stations. Eventually they made their way to East Grand Forks in 1975 where they made their home and he worked at EGF Water and Light Dept. until his retirement. David was a lifelong mechanic and could fix anything. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, gardening and tinkering in his garage and house. He especially loved the visits from his grand and great grandchildren and would light up every time he saw them.
Family members who survive David include his children, Dave (Sally) Ebertowski Jr., of Drayton, ND, Linda Edwards (Ray Kuntz) of Grand Forks, ND, Judy Hughes (Troy Cermak) of East Grand Forks, MN and Bill (Julie) Ebertowski of East Grand Forks, MN; siblings Terry Boushey of Florida, Kenny (Karen) Ebertowski of Bemidji, MN, and Susan (Patrick) Kinney of Detroit Lakes, MN; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Debra, and siblings Mary Kennedy, Jeanette Rennon, and Raymond Ebertowski.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: One hour prior to Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN at a later time.
Military Funeral Honors Conducted By: American Legion Post #157, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3817 and the United States Navy Funeral Honor Guard
