David W. Edie, age 57, of Avoca, Iowa, and formerly of Malvern, Iowa, died at his home on June 12, 2009.

He had been working 15 years as a press man for the Omaha World Herald.

David is survived by his children, William Edie and wife, Leah, of Atlantic, Iowa, Kristy Walker and husband, Mike, of Walnut, Iowa and James Edie and wife, Brittney, of Westminster, Md.; brothers, Danny Edie and wife, Linda, of Shenandoah, Iowa, John Edie and wife, Donna, of St. Louis, Mo., and Robert Edie and wife, Lisa, of Independence, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern with burial in the Malvern Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the memorial service. A memorial fund has been established.

david and were email buddies i loved his sense of humor and the little emals he would send to me, i never got the chance to meet him but felt we were very good friends and i will miss him and his sense of humor in the emails, i sincerly hope that the good memories will make his passing easier. susan

David and I recently made contact again, after many, many years. We had a great time strolling down memory lane. We shared family pics and info. Wish we had gotten together sooner. Family and friends are second only to God. Please know I am thinking of you all. May God bless. Teri Fritz (cousin)
