David J. Edler

Mr. David “Dave” John Edler, age 55, our big-hearted, generous, witty, smart, and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at his home.

David was born on July 2, 1968, in Flint, Michigan to parents Ronald & Lorine (Schreiner) Edler. Dave grew up in Millington alongside his siblings and was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He graduated from Millington High School with the class of 1988. He worked for several years with Infosource. On December 16, 1995, he married Wendy Rondo and together they shared 28 years of marriage. Dave loved the great outdoors and all that it had to offer, especially fishing. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed spending time with his mom watching Tigers games. Dave loved animals but had a love/hate relationship with his dog, Ellie. Above all, Dave loved his family and they were the most important part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy; children, Rian (Brandden), Megan (Cole), Garet; grandchildren: Karleigh, Nash, Zakyia, and Stella; mother, Mrs. Lorine Edler; brother, Shane Edler; mother-in-law, Sue Rondo; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald in 2009; sister, Kristine Steepe; and father-in-law, Roger Rondo.

David’s family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
