David Elekes Obituary

New Lexington David F. Elekes, 73, of New Lexington, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023.

Born July 15, 1950 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Charles Elekes and Wanda Elekes.

David graduated from New Lexington High School in 1969. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and worked as a coal miner for Peabody coal, retired as a dog warden in 2014. He was an avid hunter, golfer and card player. He enjoyed cooking and hosting many family gatherings.

Survived by his sons, Jamie (Heather) Elekes and Kevin (Beth) Elekes; grandchildren, Kollene, Katie, Parker and Taylor; step grandchildren, Ethan Fraunfelter, Caleb Frasure and Lakyn (Cameron) Antle; step great grandchildren, Braxton,Beckett and Brayley Antle and Emmitt Fraunfelter; and siblings, Bill (Jane) Elekes, Joe Elekes, Pat Sterling, Mary (Mike) Lehoe, Richard Elekes, Randall Elekes and Char (Rob) Krecji.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Trenia Elekes.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, 2023 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill St., New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the funeral home with Father Todd Leigh officiating.

Burial will follow at Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
