David Mitchell Evans

David Mitchell Evans, 69, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Austin, TX surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Evans. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Evans; his brother, Edward Evans (Carol); his children, Jacob Evans (Alexia), Megan Brown (Frank), Rachel Evans (Morris), Lauren Evans, and Jared Evans (Samantha); his niece, Tiffany Evans; his nephew, Matthew Evans; 14 grandchildren; and numerous other loved ones and dear friends.

David was a devoted father, grandfather, and loyal friend. A mechanic by trade, he possessed endless knowledge and was someone everyone trusted. If something was broken, David could fix it. If someone needed help, David showed up. Nothing was ever too big for him to handle.

He loved playing pool, sharing a drink or two with friends, and spending time with the people he cared about most. You could always count on him for a listening ear, a steady shoulder to lean on, and unwavering support. His strength, generosity, and quiet dependability left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

The loss of David is a tremendous one-one that many will never fully come to terms with. His presence was a constant source of comfort and reliability, and he will be deeply missed.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, followed by a celebration of David's life at 2:00 p.m.. Burial services will follow on Sunday, March 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Rest Cemetery (formerly Baker Cemetery) in Medina, Texas. Pallbearers include Robert Rodriguez, Glenn Glass, Jared Evans, Jacob Evans, Efrain Gallegos and Hector Veliz.

David's memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, and all who loved him deeply.
