David Farragh Obituary

Farragh, David Bryan "Dave"
David Bryan "Dave" Farragh, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 21, 1958, to Gordon and Eugenia (Ghiardi) Farragh in Ishpeming, MI. He graduated from Ishpeming High School class of 1976. He was proudly part of the 1975 Class C Football State Championship Team, where he typically held the positions of linebacker, running back and full back! He continued his football legacy and education at Northwood University, where he earned his bachelor's degree, and more importantly met the love of his life, Gail Peters. They were married on August 23, 1980, in Lancaster, PA, cherishing 43 years full of love, laughter and numerous adventures. In the late 1990's, the two made their way to West Michigan, which they have called home for the last 28 years. Dave was a dedicated employee for 30 years to SAF Holland where he thrived with his talking skills as a professional negotiator in sales before retiring. He also worked part-time at US Tarp working as a consultant. Dave had a strong faith and was a member of St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Parish. He was an avid outdoorsman whether it was hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, or his daily hikes along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Dave was a foodie and was a talented cook, taking pure joy in feeding and filling his home with the ones he loved. Dave was up for any adventure, maybe traveling somewhere new or spending hours on the road to make it to his grandkid's soccer games. They knew, their "Pop's" was their #1 and biggest fan! Dave had the ability to never know a stranger and with ease could make a friend. He had the gift of gab that was perfectly balanced with an easy-going personality. Dave will always be remembered as a loving husband, amazing dad of three, wonderful Pops, caring brother and friend. His larger-than-life spirit will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife, Gail Farragh; children, Tony (Charlotte) Farragh and Megan Farragh (Wade DeLonge); three grandchildren, Harper, Weston and Jack; brother, Michael (Khristi) Farragh; two sisters, Susan (Marvin) Rivers and Elizabeth Farragh; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon (Eugenia) Farragh; and daughter, Erin Farragh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Parish Church, 920 Fulton St., Grand Haven, MI 49417. A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 6-8:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 5-7:00 PM at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Dave will be laid to rest with Erin at 10 AM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Divine Mercy Catholic Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Dave's honor can be given to Erin's House for Grieving Children. Gail and family,
We offer our deepest sympathies to you on the recent passing of Dave. Dave and i were co-workers at Neway and SAF. I never met a more enthusiastic and dedicated person than Dave. Dave always had a smile and loved the sales work and its camaraderie. Through the years I worked with him, we attended trade shows and sales events, but also played some golf and drank a couple pints.
Gail, Jeneil and I are so saddened by Dave´s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.

Dear Gail, You may not remember us, but we met in our support group across the street from Parkview Hospital on State Street after our daughter, Kori, died in 1986. We shared tears and smiles then as we do once again, and we are so sorry for Dave's passing. Erin's House was just an idea back then, but we are so proud to have shared those early days. I just read of Dave's passing, and we won't be able to be there but we want you to know that we support and care for you and your family during this difficult time.
BTW Kori is buried in the upper section of the cross at Divine Mercy Cemetery where we will someday join her.
All our love and support,
John and Peggy Johnston

This is pure and simply a stunning revelation...I just saw and talked to Dave and Gail as they were out walking their dog several days ago. I will truly remember Dave as a man, a friend, a neighbor with a very "bright light" of caring that he freely transmitted in all directions. I recall always seeing him an our son's sporting activities...always a very involved father in the lives of his children and grandchildren. The grief of his loss and passing is "mind numbing" but our memories of who he was as a kind, caring, friendly, down to earth person will never be forgotten. Our hearts are broken along with those of his family and we send along our deepest sympathies to all of his family members...Adrian Breting

Gail, I'm so sorry for your loss. Dave was a great man with a heart of gold. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was my loyal MSU buddy...even when he was catching slack from his buddy, Gary Pothoff :) So many wonderful memories with Dave. He will be missed dearly.
Praying you and your family find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
