SMITHVILLE - David Jerome Ferguson, 65, passed from this life at his home in Smithville on Nov. 28, 2024. David was born Sept. 11, 1959, in Sacramento, Calif., to Patricia Nunnally Brister and the late Bernis Dale Ferguson.
He was known for always being on the river, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends. If he wasn't doing those things, you would find him listening to music while doing woodworking.
David married the love of his life, Stacy Sullivan, on Jan. 29, 1984, in Hoxie. They shared a wonderful 40 years together. He was a master craftsman, pipefitter and fabricator/welder, among many other incredible job titles.
David was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Lacy and Janie Chappell-Nunnally and Luther and Minnie Frederickson-Ferguson.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years; children, Dillon Ferguson and Tommie Nicole Sturch, both of Lynn; siblings, Debbie Ferguson of Lynn, Roy Brister of Batesville and Drew Brister of Williams, Ore.; and grandchildren, Drake Ferguson, Corbin Sturch, Ethan Ballard, Brayden Price and Austin Faith Halford.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Lynn Community Center.
