David Victor Fette age 91 passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at his home with his wife of 41 years by his side. He was born in Hannibal, Missouri to Edeana and David Fette.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Cecelia, and his brother Charles. He is survived by his wife, Carol DeVillers Fette, his daughters, Dawn Renee and Jacqueline (Kenneth) Poss, his step-children, Michael (Christine) DeVillers, Suzanne (John) Zuba, and Andrew DeVillers. He will be dearly missed by his nine grandchildren, Stefan and Lucas Le Pichouron, Jonathan (Cassie) DeVillers, Alex (Sarah) DeVillers, Matthew (Katie) DeVillers, Angela (Cody) Olson, Thomas DeVillers, Alayna (Zach) Feerick, and Louisa (John) Murphy. He is further survived by twelve great grandchildren, a loving sister-in-law, Charlotte Schleif, and many other relatives and friends.
The day after graduating high school in 1952, David enlisted in the United States Navy. He spent the next four years in active duty traveling the world as an Aviation Mechanic. This led to a life-long love for airplanes and aviation. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and received an Honorable Discharge in June of 1960.
David attended The Ohio State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1962. He started working for General Motors Truck and Bus Division. While working full-time, he attended Central Michigan University graduating with a Masters Degree in Business in May of 1983. He transferred to General Motors Quality Institute where he spent the next five years. He retired from GM in 1988 after which he started his own company, Integrating Quality. His company was involved in International Consulting, Auditing, and Teaching. He traveled the world teaching companies and their employees quality control. He fully retired after twelve years of running his own company.
After retirement, David pursued his love for airplanes and aviation by building and flying model airplanes. He built and flew many model airplanes over the years, one of which he named "Hurricane Carol." He was an active member of The Flying Electrons, a model airplane club in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. David also enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. His most cherished times were family gatherings filled with Carol's cooking and much laughter.
David will be dearly missed for his extreme intellect, dry sense of humor, off beat comments, wonderful hugs, and love for his entire family.
The family would like to thank all the medical professionals at Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin for the wonderful care especially Dr. Laura Michaelis. In addition, much gratitude to Horizon Hospice, especially Nurse Maria.
There will be a celebration of life this summer. More to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnels to Towers.

I miss you Daddy & hope you are in peace. I can sense you every day, watching from above, caring for those you loved, while enjoying a new spiritual journey. No matter what life has brought us, I will always be your little bugger, and I love you very much!

David was a man of honor and humor always took time to say hi or tell me his most fascinating story of how he fixed something at Pilgrim Glen. He was a gentle man with a great laugh and smile. Carol is a saint with a gold heart who loved and cared for him all the time. Her laugh and his humor made them the perfect couple. Know he is in a better place and he will be looking down on you with love.
