David Martin Forbord

The family of David Martin Forbord is saddened to announce his passing on May 7, 2023 at the age of 73 after a brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in his home in Mason, MI. He was born in Flint,MI on April 11, 1950.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Delphine Forbord and sister, Karen Grubka.
David was happily married to Janis for 51 years. He was the dear father of Barbara (Chris) Groome, Erik (Angela) Forbord and proud grandfather of Samantha (Kris) Wiese, Darren Groome, Elijah Forbord, and Liam Forbord. David was the beloved brother of Marvis (Bob) Hafner, uncle of many wonderful nieces and nephews, and had many loving cousins and friends.
David was a manufacturing engineer at Ford Motor Company for 30 years, where he was affectionately known as "BamBam".
David was an Eagle Scout in reality and in spirit. He was always prepared and he did a good deed whenever one presented itself to him. He loved spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hiking which included part of the Appalachian Trail. David loved animals, especially dogs, and couldn't resist stopping to greet each one on his walks. He also enjoyed feeding and watching birds like his mother, Delphine. He adored his family and loved participating in family activities.
He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Rest in peace and enjoy your new home in heaven with those that went before you.
