David Bruce Fortner was born on May 21, 1954 in Birmingham, AL. He left this world to soon on September 16, 2025. David was a beloved father to Clarissa Melton of Clarksville, AR, Colton (Jessica) Fortner of De Soto, MO, Madison (Daniel Gonzales) Fortner of Cadet, MO, Chase Fortner of Cadet , MO and Kaleb (Barb) Parker of O'Fallon, MO. David was also a devoted grandfather to Aspyn, Paisley, Olivia, Lincoln, Lilly, Selena, Silas, Estella, Mateo and Lexi. Dear brother to Ann Stepp of Camden, TN and Joe Fortner of Savannah, GA. David was retired from the Chrysler automobile manufacturing plant in Fenton having worked there for 30 years. David took his retirement very seriously. He enjoyed watching Alabama Football and the St. Louis Blues and spending time with his kids and grandkids. David was an active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of De Soto for over 30 years. David was preceded in death by his parents: John Fortner and Lillie Moore and his step father Raymond Moore; his brothers: John Wayne, Bob and Sam Fortner and his sisters: Linda Broodhead and Joyce Odom.
