David Foster, a beloved member of our community, was born on March 14, 1959, and departed this world on January 20, 2026. His life was a testament to kindness, service, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

David was a proud veteran of the United States Army, embodying the spirit of dedication and commitment not only to his country but also to his friends and loved ones. His service to this nation was matched only by his devotion to those around him, he often took time out of his day to spread happiness and support in his community.

A cherished presence in Alpena, David was a familiar face at The Friendship Room at St. Bernards, where he built lasting relationships and touched the lives of many. His genuine warmth and caring nature resonated with everyone he encountered, creating a welcoming space filled with laughter, compassion, and friendship.

As we gather to honor David’s memory, we are reminded of the countless moments he created, the joy he spread, and the love he shared. His legacy will continue to inspire kindness in a world that can so often seem challenging.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to celebrate his life during a memorial service at St. Bernard Catholic Church, located at 322 West Chisholm Street, Alpena, MI 49707, on February 5, 2026. The service will begin at 3:00 PM with Deacon Michael Roy as celebrant.

David Foster’s light may have dimmed in this life, but his spirit will forever glow brightly in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire love and kindness in all whose lives he touched.
