CRIDERSVILLE -- David "Dave" Fought, 72, of Cridersville, passed away March 04, 2026, at St Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born May 5, 1953 in Lima to Doyle and Marceil(Wannemacher) Fought who preceded him in death. On Sep 22, 1995 he married Elaine (Sandkuhl) Fought who survives in Cridersville.
He is survived by two sisters Dianne Heitmeyer of Fort Jennings and Peggy (Gerry) Kill of Powell; sister-in-law, Kathy Fought of Delphos; nine nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews and his best friends Lin and Randy Brinkman.
He was preceded in death by brother Larry Fought and brother-in-law Bob Heitmeyer. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dogs: Fancy, Jordy and Joey.
Dave was a 1971 St. John's Graduate. He was in the grocery business for over 40 years, sold real estate and was the wine shop manager at Anderson's in Lima. He played baseball for Harold's Bar and coached The Delphos Braves for seventeen years. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Detroit Tigers and Lions and OSU. He retired to Arizona for seventeen years and recently moved back to Ohio in April 2025.
A private graveside burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the The Parkinson's Foundation.
