David Garland Obituary
David was a man of few words but lived a life full of action. He loved his family more than anything else in this life. His joy was being a father, along with all the laughter, memories, and adventures shared. He also enjoyed a life full of fast cars, motorcycles, food fights, pranks, and adventures. His family is most comforted by his recent acceptance of Jesus Christ as his personal savior and the sure hope of everlasting life.
A native and lifelong resident of Asheville, David was a son of Carrie Eloise Honeycutt Garland and the late Hollis Garland. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie S. Garland.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Carolyn Jean Marlor Garland; mother, Carrie Garland; children: Justin Wood (Taylor), Ashley Nicole Widner (Gary), Samantha Michelle Jackson (Jason), Samuel Brian Wood, Noah Daniel Garland, and Isaiah Garland (Erin); ten grandchildren; brother, Bobby Garland; mother and father-in-law, Howard and Norma Jean Marlor; special niece, Kayla Bostick (Justin); special friends: Tony and Brenda Igeclia, and Vicki Lynn Stewart; beloved dogs: Bella Rue who passed the day after David, Lucy Sue, Maggie Mae, and Nicole Ann; and by many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of David's life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 23, 2022, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Sam King officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following services on Friday at the funeral home.
