David Geer Obituary
David Donald Geer
HUDSON FALLS - It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, David Donald Geer, just 21 days shy of his 78th birthday.
Born to the late Donald and Hylda Geer of Kingsbury and Pilot Knob, David was full of wisdom, knowledge, and humor. He will be remembered for his keen mind and his ability to recall cherished memories with perfect clarity.
Upon graduating from Hudson Falls High School, he attended college at the University of Albany.
David was an integral member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls serving as their financial secretary, following in his beloved Aunt Mildred's footsteps. You would often find him every Sunday afternoon meticulously keeping their books. His family would all agree this was something David loved doing. Numbers and words kept his mind sharp; there was not a jumble or crossword puzzle that he could not finish. Even after a courageous battle with ALS, you could find David with a book and a finished jumble and crossword puzzle.
As well as being the treasurer for the church, David worked as a taxi driver and spent many years working for Sears and TJ Maxx. But please don't think that defined him, as well as spending many years working, David enjoyed spending time with his family even more. He would be the first one to sit at the dinner table and the last to leave. In the more recent years, he got to know his great-nieces and nephews, who called him "Unk." He loved playing Scrabble and Uno with them.
David is survived by his siblings, Donna (David) Wood of Lincoln, Vt., brothers, Tom (Toni-Ann) Geer of Fort Ann and John (Debbie) Geer of Queensbury. Nieces and nephews left to cherish his memory are Matthew Wood, Carol Lynn (Erica Ford) Wood, Jeremiah (Kristine) Geer, Randi (Alpha) White, Darci (Benjamin) Brewer, Jenni (Sean) Ryan, and Jacob Geer. David wouldn't forget to mention his rowdy great-nieces and nephews either who include Sheridan Rose, Caroline Louise, Benjamin Thomas, Cecilia Lynes, Frances Ann, and Lillian Belle, Nora Ann, Griffin James, and Callie Rae.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls or the family suggest donations be made to the ALS association.
