David Franklin Gibbs, 80, of Clovis, passed away on November 11, 2022 in Clovis at his home with his daughter and grandson by his side.
A visitation will be held Thursday November 17, 2022 from 4-8pm at Steed Todd Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 18, 2022 in the Steed Todd Funeral Chapel at 2pm.
Burial will follow at the Melrose Cemetery.
David was born in Sebastopol, CA. to Clabern and Earline (Gunnels) Gibbs on August 10, 1942. David went to school at Field and Melrose.
David went to welding school in Phoenix AZ, he also worked for the City of Clovis, and worked for the state highway dept in Melrose before becoming a lifetime farmer. As his daughters, we think dad was the best farmer ever. Our dad loved driving to the farm and looking at his crops. He had some of the best milo and wheat crops around. We think its because he talked to the crops and visited them daily.
Dad was baptized in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. We had the best Dad and the grandkids had the best Papa ever.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Clabern and Earline Gibbs; his baby girl Lisa, and his brother Phillip.
David is survived by his daughters; Melissa (Greg) Frazier, Connie (Kyle) Mobley; Grandchildren, Justin Frazier, Kurt (Haley) Frazier, Savannah and Shelby Mobley; Great grandchildren, Kolt Frazier, Luke Frazier, and Jaylynn Hernandez; Sisters, MaryAnn Mcloughlin, Esther Cantrell; Sister-in-law, Suzanne Dickinson; Nephew, Bryan Cantrel and lots of good friends.
Justin Frazier, Kurt Frazier, Savannah Mobley, Shelby Mobley, Kolt Frazier, Luke Frazier, Jaylynn Hernandez and Bryan Cantrell will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The Family of David would like to thank Dr. Martinez and nurses of Amarillo and the nurses from Gentiva Hospice in Clovis. Thank you for being so kind.
