David Gladding Obituary
David Lee Gladding, passed away at his home on April 24, 2024 at the age 74. He was born on January 29, 1950 in Ionia, Michigan, the son of Estel and Josephine (Sellbach) Gladding. As a young man, he answered the call of duty and served his nation in the US Army with honor during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Dave embarked on a career at Fisher Body, where his hard work and dedication spanned over 33 years, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company alike. Dave's true joy in life came from spending time with his loved ones. He cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and beloved pets. In his leisure time, he often enjoyed fishing and playing games on his computer. Dave will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of courage, hard work, and love will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Dave is survived by his children, Brad Gladding, Kristi (Tom) Warner, and John Gladding; grandchildren, Corbin Gladding, Evan Warner, and Zane Warner; sisters, Jeanne Jeffery, Nancy (Gilbert) Foster, and Kathy (Dave) Frushour; brothers, William (Cathi) Gladding and Ron Gladding; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents and nieces, Shelly Vick and Rachelle Gladding.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Duane Bower at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the funeral chapel. Military Honors will be provided by the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090.
