David Gomez passed away on August 7, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family members. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was known to have a generous and caring heart. He was always willing to help everyone and was very knowledgeable and highly skilled at carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, and anything else he set his mind to knowing; but what he was great at was trouble shooting and finding the solution.

He is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Gomez; his parents, Juanito and Sara Gomez; his three brothers-in-law and best friends, Ralph Benavidez, Raul Benavidez, and Eddie Benavidez; his sisters-in-law, Raquel B. Amaya, Irma B. Sanchez; and his fur babies, Miller and Sandy.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 28 years, Santos B. Gomez; his three sisters, Rosie (Ben) Torrez, Gloria (Ruben) Martinez, and Linda (Jeff) Holub; his two brothers, Ruben (Elaine) Gomez and Thomas Gomez; his son, David (Brenda) Gomez, Jr.; his daughter, Veronica Gomez; his three step-sons, Ramon Salinas, III, Jeffrey Salinas, and Daniel Flores; his brothers-in-law, Emilio Amaya, Henry Sanchez, Hipolito (Gloria) Benavidez, Valentine (Trudy) Benavidez, Martin (Elsa) Benavidez, Steve Benavidez, and Larry (Dalia) Benavidez; his sisters-in-law, Zulema Benavidez, Chong Benavidez, Ida Escatiola, and Irma Garza; his four grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; three great-step grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and lastly, his two fur babies, Mariah and George.

He especially loved to listen to his favorite Tejano and conjunto bands and his neighbors did too, for it was loud! He was a great dancer to the same music and never missed a beat. The most endearing thing about him was his smile and caring ways towards everyone he knew.

Mi amor, say hello to Jesus, our Savior, and remember to thank him, especially for the past three and a half years when he took extra care of you and never left us alone. Rest peacefully now, my love, ‘til we meet again.

David’s family will receive condolences on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 10:00, at Christ the King Catholic Church followed by Rite of Committal and Interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park at 11:30 AM.

Honoring David as pallbearers will be David Gomez, Jr., Jeffrey Salinas, Daniel Flores, Mark Torrez, Michael Torrez, and Homer Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Holub.
