Richard Perez, age 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 17, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. Richard was born on November 12, 1946, to Manuela and Jesus Perez.

He graduated from San Diego High School in 1965. Richard worked for Southwestern Bell for 30 years. In 1985, he received the Theodore N. Vail Award for saving the life of a 14-month-old boy while at work. He was a member of the International Bowling League, where he made many friends. After retiring from Southwestern Bell, he became a barber and later, a part-time barber instructor at South Texas Barber College. He was hard-working and generous. He loved to travel. He made friends everywhere he went. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his family and his love of baking, especially his famous carrot cakes. Richard was a loving father, son, brother, and husband.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Manuela and Jesus Perez, and his brother Jesse Perez.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Norma Perez, with whom he shared 53 years together, his loving daughter, Dana Perez, his grandson, Jason Perez (RaeAnna Rodriguez), and his great-granddaughters, Faith Castillo, Adrienne Perez, Amaya, and Avalon Rodriguez.
